Character's Back Story
History: ”Sing now seraph, find the calm within your soul. Bring us closer to the flame that guides us home.” A child whom was marked by Anima as a prodigy from the get go. Nellia was named directly after the Old World goddess and resistance leader Nellia Alaine Donelly. The Elder looked down upon her and smiled on her pressing his thumb across her forehead marking her as a Paladin within the first seconds of her life. And so she was shipped off to Freeman Academy to grow up and learn the ways of the paladin. Brother Joseph took care of her as a father figure. He taught her the virtues and guided her on the moral path as a choir girl. She sang in ceremonies and stood as one of the members to canonize Paladins into service. She even stood in the masse that officially allowed Joseph to become a elder of the order, thus becoming Father Joseph. And then Joseph began training her long before other recruits to become a Paladin. It was against the code of the paladins, but he wished for her to be well trained by the time she took the tests and trials. The Father taught her in the arts of hand to hand combat. And trained her as a dancer. This was odd to Nel, she figured she would be a Paladin warrior, not a entertainment object. But this was his way of training her for the future as a weapons dancer. “Step, step step, Good.” He would say with her elegant movements. “One, two, three, good.” The trials of a Paladin begin when the child turns Thirteen. This makes them a squire. She took the test and aced it with ease due to her foot work and battle ready skills. But during the test she showed a holy presence unknown to Father Joseph himself. A paladin can harness the energy of the light for himself/herself no sooner than the age of thirteen, before that, they only can use the holy energy for prayer and selfless giving. A council was held, the other paladin members and Father Joseph argued of her abilities until finally the Elder spoke, “SILENCE! Nellia was marked by me at her birth. She is to become a paladin now, and skip squire training, thank you to Father Joseph for properly training her, she will from this point onward be trained at Fallon Square away from the Freeman Academy.” Hardest day of their lives, she packed her belongings in tears and hugged Father Joseph as she left. The silver paladins in full armor guided her off to the carriage and across the seas. Fallon Square was host to the academy of Paladins and the Holy Capital of the Attillian Continent. It was there that she was pitted against the best of the best, Paladins far beyond her years of experience, and she still continued to annihilate each obstacle thrown at her. They considered her style to be very unique and only followed by one other far beyond her time. She was unpredictable, and had training that most of the Paladin recruits didn’t receive until they made it to the academy. She stood as the youngest in her class, being fifteen after a year there while most new recruits were nineteen. Nel commanded the holy energy unlike any other in her grade and finally the test to become part of the Paladin army came. She stood at Eighteen. She faced against a real warrior. A Paladin who has been serviced within the army for years. They face one another in combat. He moved agile and hit hard, but she was faster and could strike him more often. The fight was very one sided for him until the end when she unleashed massive amounts of holy energy in a series of strikes to his torso which dropped him. Father Joseph and The Elder were part of her graduation. She was presented with the Holy armor of the Paladin. And her studies began. She left Fallon Square for a year to travel and train in the world she knew nothing about. Within that year she obtained the weapon known as Ezekiel. When she returned they gave her a position within the army right away. And so she served and defended. A year ago she did battle against the Abyss, and her battlefield prowess gave her the top spot within the army. She leads strike teams into Abyss territory and stands against them as they try to get closer to Fallon Square. |
