They came, they saw, they conquered. It how they operated and the Abyss were the masters of the numbers game. Zira didn't know what to do now except the most obvious, stay alive. The Abyss held no prejudice when they killed, it didn't matter to them. If you got in their way they would cut you down all the same, it what happened to her aunt and uncle and what would have happened to her too if it weren't for this stranger. Zira noticed one of the soldiers trying to climb up the building she was on and Zira quickly aimed the flamethrower at his head and pulled back on the trigger, lighting the Abyss soldier like a Christmas Tree as he fell back into his comrades on the ground.
Again Zira jumped to the next rooftop trying to keep up with the more experienced stranger who saved her life back in that hoard of Abyss soldiers. Who was she or better yet what was she? Human like she? That what it looked like but you could never tell. For now Zira would have to trust her as she had no idea what to do or even how to react to the attacking force on the ground slaughtering whatever they found. Zira was beginning to lose hope for her hometown as she gripped the flamethrower tightly and ran faster to catch up to the brunette up ahead. No time to mourn her lost now.

"MOTHER FUCKERS!" Shots fired, the .40S&W came forth from the barrels and collided into the skull of the three Abyss grunts that made their way to the roof through the building itself. This Commander could never catch a break. She was shattered mentally, tortured physically, raped, tortured more physically and mentally and now these damn things were trying to kill her! Why? Who the fuck knows. Probably as simple as being told to search and destroy, take the land before you and ready it for your command. It how the Crimson Devil worked back at home. War really was everywhere.
Tori turned her head to look behind her, seeing that the dark haired woman was being able to keep up, flamethrower clenched tight in her fingers. Good. That was one less thing to worry about. Jacobs turned to the right and went on down the top of the houses that were right next to each other. It was a good thing these buildings have been close so far otherwise jumping the rooftops wouldn't be possible for them. Tori was trying to get out of the field of vision of these soldiers before even asking the hometown girl what was the fastest way out of this city.

Zira's attention returned to the stranger's as she swore, the loud sound of guns going off hurt her ears while watching the soldiers up ahead fall to their deaths. It was strange, a moment ago Zira wished death on every single thing that were attacking and now she was feeling sympathy and pity for these beings. Zira would soon be pulled out of those emotions as she came to a force stop as an arrow hit the path in front of her. Speeding up in the run Zira finally caught up with Tori and tugged on her arm, trying to make her see the arrow while the soldiers down below have exchanged climbing the buildings for pulling out bow & arrows and trying to kill them that way.

Tori felt the tug and turned her head over to Zira, looking annoyed. "What!?" Her question would soon be answered without the other girl needing to say or do anything, Tori's eyes looked out to the crowd of Abyss down below and in the distance. They had bows and arrows, pointed up diagonally and set to rain down upon them. Jacobs pointed her right .40S&W pistol at the group. "Don't you FUCKING dare!" Oh they dared. They did. The arrows were fired and came raining down. With no time to waste Tori dropped one gun in her hoist to free her hand and grab Zira's running down the buildings top trying to avoid the in-coming arrows.
In the midst of the run Tori saw a glassed building up ahead with a fire escape they could jump to. But first it was time to make a forced entrance. Tori fired a couple of shots from the pistol and broke the windows up ahead as she came to a stop on the ledge. "Jump!" It wasn't close, yet wasn't far either. A good running start and they could easily make it by grabbing onto the fire escape. "Hurry!" Tori turned around and started firing at the swam down below who were reloading their arrow supply.

Zira closed her eyes as Tori led her by the hand now, literally. This was it! Zira Firestone was sure that she was going to die today, hearing the arrows fly through the sky and hit the area around them yet they were both able to evade the arrows as Tori kept running but came to an abrupt stop. Zira's eyes opened and she saw the ledge and the glassed building with a window shattered in. The stranger was yelling at her to jump and since they would end up dying if they stayed there Zira didn't have much to lose. She backed up and then ran forward, leaping through the air and grabbing the ledge of the fire escape as she pulled herself up it and then entered through the shattered window, hoping that Tori would be close behind. Zira couldn't do this on her own.

Good. At least the woman can follow simple instructions. Tori shot one arrow off it's trajectory and rolled out of the way of another one, but this certainly wasn't going to fare very well for Tori if she didn't get the hell out of dodge now while she can. Before another wave of arrows could be fired at once Tori lunged forward, landing on the fire escape and then leaping through the window she broke in to find an apartment on the other side. An apartment building. Better than nothing.
"They would have saw us enter through here," said Tori while beginning to reload her pistols. "We don't have any time to waste. What's the fastest way out of the city?"

Zira opened her mouth to speak but then remembered that she couldn't. Well couldn't was the wrong word, more like didn't deserve to. It was awkward standing there wanting to speak and help the woman who saved her life but Zira have yet to redeem herself in her eyes to earn the privilege of speaking again. Zira considered breaking her silence given the situation but then decided to do Tori one better. She would show Tori the fastest way out of the city. Zira signaled for Tori to follow her as she headed for the threshold between the apartment and the hallway.

Tori raised an eyebrow at Zira while it looked like she was about to speak but then she stopped herself. Both of Tori's pistols were slipped into their hoists and kept there for now as Zira gave a signal for Tori to follow and headed for the door. Not liking this one bit Tori stepped forward, grabbed the shoulder of Zira and spun her around (Approved by Zira) staring into her eyes intensely. "What's the matter with you? I asked you a question!" Now was no time to play follow the leader.

Zira felt herself being forced around to look at Tori. As expected the stranger wasn't too pleased with her inability to speak but Zira didn't know what else to do. Pleading with her eyes Zira waved her free hand, the other still holding onto that flamethrower nice and tight as she tried to reassure Tori that she could be trusted. Pointing to her mouth Zira shook her head to tell Tori that she couldn't speak. Again Zira would signal for Tori to follow headed for the door once more, not wanting to stay in this apartment when the Abyss could storm this building any minute.

Tori removed her hand from Zira and backed up, biting her lower lip to prevent a groan from coming out. Things were going from bad to worse. Tori didn't have a lot of experience interacting with people who couldn't speak so she had a feeling the next couple of hours, or however long it's take to get out of the city, was going to be a pain in the ass. As Zira took the lead and left the room Tori lingered a bit, shaking her head. "Dammit. Of all the people in this town I find the mute." Tori followed Zira out, taking a single .40S&W pistol out into her right hand as she did so. "You better know what you're doing. Those things aren't playing games. For grunts they pack a mean punch and that makes them more than mere cannon fodder."

Zira gulped but didn't have a lot of time to munch on it as she could hear the door down in the lobby breaking down as the Legion of Abyss began entering the glassed building. In a panic Zira led Tori into a random apartment, shutting the door behind them and making it over to behind a couch for hiding, and if it comes to it cover. Zira prayed that the Abyss would pass on by without looking into the room and they could proceed down while they go up.

Yeah that wasn't about to happen. The Abyss began searching rooms with each floor they reached and it was only a matter of time before they found theirs. Taking them all on was obviously suicide so all that was required of them was to force their way through the soldiers blocking their path and make a run for it. Hopefully they didn't have anything else sharp and deadly they could throw but Tori wasn't going to hold her breath for a miracle.
Tori could hear footsteps approaching, now with both her guns in hand she looked over to Zira. "On my mark; one, two---!" The door came down as a couple of Abyss foot soldiers entered with their spears in hand, they weren't handsome but they were certainly better looking now that The Keeper was dead. "Three!" Tori finished the count and came up from behind the couch firing at the foot soldiers.

Zira was rocking back and forth from behind the couch. Trying to keep your wits about you was harder than Zira thought possible. On the count of three Zira came up alongside Tori on the opposite side of the couch. After the Abyss men were forced back by the bullets Zira burnt them with the flamethrower and then jumped over the couch and ran out of the apartment heading down to the lobby wanting to get out of here while more of the legion was hot on their trail.

While running Tori turned around and fired off more shots at the soldiers who were chasing them. The shots were right on their mark but these soldiers had shields and they used them, withstanding the bullets as Tori then held up her guns to the weak looking ceiling and began to fire! That part of the ceiling collapsed and blocked their path. At the very least it would be enough to slow them down and allowed the two to create enough distance from the troops.
Upon arriving to the lobby an armored warrior wielding a blade came through the entrance and charged at Tori. He was able to dodge the incoming bullets and swung his blade at her. Tori leaned backward but the blade still took off part of her shirt and left a small cut above her stomach, blood dripping down as she growled at the warrior. "Bastard!" She began shooting in a rage but the warrior did a backflip, going over the bullets and landed on both his feet, now charging towards Zira swinging the sword vertically towards her.

Oh crap! Why did it have to be her? Zira fell backwards onto the ground but that didn't stop her from shooting the flamethrower but it looked like the officer was withstanding the flames, not due to his armor but some magical barrier that had appeared between him and the flames dancing around him. Zira turned her head to see one of those mages entering the lobby, glowing eyes looking at the women as the officer lifted up his sword ready to strike Zira down with the fatal blow.
