The gate fell – opening the way for fate to enter the holy city.
There were many who fought against the dark army and held off the wave, but from his vantage point Aper knew all too well that the heroes’ efforts were in vain. While they were strong, the battle against the Abyss would be one of atrophy; sooner or later the sheer number of soldiers would tire them out, even if by then they stood on the corpse of a million slain enemies. With everyone slowly losing ground, it would only be a matter of time before history would remember this event as the fall of Fallon Square – and the final stand of the Ajerian on the Castillian continent.
The only question was who would be left standing to remember.
Shadows moved across the skies in the form of boulders crashing against the fortifications of the citadel. One particular projectile smashed through the central stained-glass window of the cathedral where the Arashi stood. The tale-tale tremor of structure beginning to fall apart was accompanied by the thunderous screams of the citizens as they saw one of the most ancient symbols of their faith beginning to crumble before their eyes. The great bell fell. Some ran, others fell to their knees in disbelief – praying to their god for strength, whilst the Abyss that had snuck through the lines delivered some from this new reality, their nightmare. A long, cavernous wail echoed across the battlefield… And the bell landed, humming a final apocalyptic ring. The ancient stone finally gave way under its own weight. The front of the basilica toppled before eventually shattering with the help of a second deadly meteor. Aper still stood at the top of the edifice even as it lived through its final moment of majesty. He looked down at his prey, not at all unbalanced by the drastic shift in gravity. Like an eagle, he spread his arms and jumped.
He fell, along with the last bastion of the Paladin’s religion.
He landed in unison with the ruins of the cathedral. The impact was such as it raised the earth from beneath the stone tiles of the streets, and blew the nearest bystanders off several feet in the air. While the dust still drew a heavy curtain over the remains of the temple – shadows clearly converged at the center of the scene, presenting a dark silhouette amongst the wreckage. There, crouched to a knee, with one hand on the ground… and it rose it’s gaze towards the fallen angel.

Abyss after Abyss fell to the resounding power of the Holy Paladins. It was true that holy ground gave the Paladins the upper hand here. But the vast numbers rising from the sands of the Sea could not be stopped by simply having the gods on their side. All at once, it was silent. (que song: Six-Chimaira) Slowly the citadel crumbled from meteoric assault. And it all fell to shambles with one being left staring upon the Devil that was Adena. The Matron took her gaze from the wreckage and focused on Nellia and Illion. The chaos and symphony around her. Tears and anger. It was like the taste of ash and misery. Distantly the Abyss raped and murdered person after person. Another siege engine wrecked the wall on the western side of the square flooding more abyss into the walls. The Lord Paladins ordered an evacuation by sea. One paladin though, dressed in gold steel, stuck out more than the rest. His ancient face knew years that most didn't get to see. His eyes were strict with wisdom and full of power. The old paladin stood at the entrance to the docks as they Abyss came to wreck the hundreds of paladins, civilians, and refugees. These abyss simply saw one man in their way to killing the remainder of the Paladin army. These abyss foolishly rushed the one man. Even from Jerico, even from the Attillian Dynasty, to the Sands of the Damned, his raw holy energy could be felt as golden arcs erupt from around him, holy light flooded through these abysmal ranks, these arcs latched onto the soldiers and arced between one another, the entire rank fell to ash. And even through this chaos the sun shone brightly on this one man. A holy wall of light blocked the city from the harbor now, he stood in wait as the other ships launched from the dock, one ship, his royal guard, and Nellia were all that was left in the city of the Paladin army. Several stray palaldin groups were still amidst the hordes of the Abyss fighting, but none worthy to be noted of. This man, they called him the Elder. The hair on the back of Adena's neck stood on end at the feel of this holy mans power. But she didn't acknowledge it, her gaze was instead locked on the enemies she faced now. Even with the groups of Paladins still holding their ground in the city, it wasn't enough, many of them were fighting their way out of the city to escape to Jerico, where the unknown faced them. It was falling into place, and already Adena could leave knowing that the Square had fallen. But there stood the General of the Paladin army, a chance to kill her and rid the army of the ability to reform so easily.

"Everyone..." He said in a low mumble towards Tori's group. He was observing the area and and chaos that was raining down as he began walking towards the Elder and the rest of the paladins. He began his words in a high tone so they could hear him. "Get the fuck out here... Now's not the time for heros as Angels fall but rather... It's play time for us Devils." With that his Demonic aura surged and was flowing from him as he walked, on could see a transparent being from the waste up behind him, a demon, following closely behind Daikus.

Aper rose to his full height as the veil of dust lifted around him – revealing his unnatural appearance. Few if any could discern it among the chaos of the battlefield however, as even then the Abyss soldiers came at him. Blinded by their frenzy, none of the assailants noticed how the warrior effortlessly impaled the first with his arm before grabbing another by the head and severing his skull from his torso through the carcass of his slain ally. Pulling back his hand, he used the momentum of his manoeuvre to throw the limb at the mass with the same offhanded mannerism, the sheer force behind the throw enough for the ragged head to pass through armour and flesh of several other soldiers of its caste. Hands at his side, the Arashi slowly marched towards Adena, paying no mind to the Elder nor to the general of the Paladins. Chaos was inconsequential to the purpose he served, and the task he had been given… and Adena’s attention focused only the foes she could see.
Aper’s eyes ignited with deep blue flames.
In a single instant, Aper disappeared from view – a shadow prevented the sun from shinning on the Fallen Angel – and the Arashi branded his fist high above his prey…

"Attention everyone!" Joshua's voice boomed around him as he tried to rally the noncombatants around him. "Me and this woman here are going to get you out of here!" Scared men, women, and children were looking around at the chaos, panic still gripping them as their lives burned and crumbled around them. Joshua saw the battle drawing closer to the innocents, he knew what he had to do. "hero time..."
dozens, maybe hundreds of abyssal soldiers charged towards them, he walked up to a building and made a quick motion, backhanding through the wall to weaken it, then hitting the ground with his armored fist. He punched and punched, causing the earth to shake, causing the buildings weakened supports to give way and making it spill debris and collapse onto the road. Some abyss were crushed, many were simply blocked off. "They are Abysmal... Abysmal failures, BAM! Explained it for those watching a home!" Joshua 1, forth wall, nil. He heard the declaration from the white haired guy and simply shouted a snide response. "STOP BEING A POSER AND GET ME ANOTHER BEER YOU SATANIST FREAK!" He had lives to save, and he could use a cold one. "EVERYONE, HEAD THIS WAY!" His voice boomed once more as he started away from the center of the fray, trying to lead as many as he could from the battle.
The seemingly infinite Abyss soldiers were fuel for the war machine that was Gangrel, the greatest of the Scythe weapon-race of Charnel. He moved fast, ripping Grunts and soldiers and even magic users aside, slaying them all as he moved to the Siege Engine, it was giant and terrifying, a vicious device throwing flames and hatred in the form of those meteorites. He quickly moved to it, smashing his spinning blades and heavy, bone-hard bulk into the frame, smashing it and tearing through the side. "Surprise!" inside the contraption, his spinning blades wreaked havoc, those who were not sliced down were crushed by his rampaging an careening bulk as he moved violently and viciously through the cantankerous siege equipment, rendering it useless but well lubricated with the blood of its former operators.

Nellia pushed aside her Royal guard, they simply nodded to her and moved away heading for the harbor. She watched Adena with a focused gaze and even with Illion by her side, she was alone, and she knew this very well. It was she whom saw the Arashi easily guided by the stench of his blazing fuel, but Nel didn't do anything. If he took out the Devil then she would have one less thing to face.
---
What was interesting about these Abyss hordes was how easily the Ookami could kill them. Blade tip met flesh, even steel, and yet none could swade her from ejecting their soul into the unknown. Creepy smile, but a cute face none the less. Her chest was nearly bare, with the camo bikini she donned, along with the combat cargo pants studded with a leather belt. The Natsume blade extended the style of Merjutsu, through the city even. Out of the sands into the busted wall, she was curious what was going on.
Her eyes fell on the Hybrid warrior, white hair and all, "You! Hey you! What the fuck is going on?!"

His attention was grabbed by the new arrival and all he could think of the moment his eyes looked at her was dayum. BUT, this wasn't the time for flirting or anything like that. Instead, he just shrugged. "Not really sure myself. Good guys there," He said pointing Rebellion at the paladins.
"bad guys there... and maybe there." He said pointing at the abyss, their leader, and even the guy with shiny blue eyes. "Kill bad guys." He said that sooner after he grabbed one charging abyss grunt by the face and dug his fingers into the creature's skull. An odd blood lust was stirring inside of him, but he didn't care. He let the body go and continued his walk towards the Judgment, "Gonna jump in?" He responded to the Ookami.

"Perhaps." She said scratching her chin slightly and gently. "But that would make me a good guy. Rather than a bad guy. When I don't want to be a good guy, nor a bad guy... Hmmm, interesting.... Interesting...." Kasami sheathed her sword, "So I'll simply do- nothing."
As she said this though, the Abyss pushed forward through the gap in the wall and she unsheathed her blade redirecting all of the energy behind it into a pressurized wave that cut them down, "I suppose I'll be a good guy today."
---
Nellia moved forward now, away from Illion, holy energy was empowered within her body along with being a natural generator for the shining light, standing on this holy ground gave her power while weakening any unholy. She lanced from her blade the holy shock toward Adena and Aper with a swipe of the blade.

Daikus could shout until he lost his voice, it wasn't registering with Tori's ears. She was too focused on the task at hand to be ordered by anybody who wasn't Sazan, and Sazan wasn't here so she could give her no orders. Playing hero? This was her job, not to mention Tori never had it in her to turn her back on those in need. Even the paladins couldn't be everywhere at once so their presence gave them one extra set of hands. Tori continued to hold back as many as she could, bullets causing big holes in the body of the Abyss soldiers but still some managed to get pass her, but she had faith in Zira and Joshua, they'd get the job done and it already looked like the paladins were thinking the same thing she was.
Then her eyes caught sight of the Abyss raping people in the sea of all this madness. Her own madness began to dig up to the surface, being reminded of the way The Spider Queen had violated her. Both guns were now aimed on the Abyss Rapist, and he would find himself violated, violated by a wave of bullets that tore new holes all over his body, bullets sank into his body again and again until his body fell down to the ground, but not before the last bullet connected with his head and blew out his brains, brains cell splattering on the ground as now one Abyss rapist wasn't just the victim of death.
He was the victim of brutality.

"No that definitely wasn't one of ours," Alexis replied to Tori.
Illion finally appeared and after a short word with Alexis made his appearance known to the Legion of Abyss assaulting Fallon Square. The Ajerian Candidate only nodded in response as she charged the hoard of Abyss heading her way. Bringing the sharp edge of her blade down against the skull of one incoming soldier, beginning to split his head in half by forcing the sword down it further. Blood spewed from the opening of his head separating, dying her hair and clothes a crimson red as her face was painted by the grunt's blood. Lifting the sword up both halves of the soldier's head fell to the ground, Alexis grabbed the headless body before it could join it's head and used it as a shield against the other soldiers attack as she continued her charge.
No mercy.

The matron stepped away, flooding before here were the minions she had dragged along. They made a wall before her and she shifted backwards hard clearing some major distance between them and the fallen arch which she once stood on. Her blade came freshly to play which created an aura around her generating the barriers that the Anubis used to conquer the Egyption lands long ago.
She didn't move even still. She evaluated what was assaulting her, a Holy being, a dreadful mass of energy, and an Ajerian. This seemed as if it would be easily in her court. But not being hasty, her hand crept to the second blade at her side, and then stopped. Something in her body wanted to grasp it, but she knew not to. Instead she generated fire and electricity upon her palm through the ring on her finger, she would fight, as the elementals in her lands.

The Angel had drastically shifted her center of gravity moments before Aper’s attack landed true, simultaneously evading his assault as well as Nel’s. The arc of energy instead encountered the Arashi’s fist, which dissected the holy beam like a blade. Though only dust and shadows lingered around the warrior’s form, this unexpected result was in no small part due to the immense power condensed within the blow. The two halves of the holy force darted skyward, promptly slicing one of the siege weapons’ projectiles and veering three new pieces off-course into the mass of Abyss soldiers protecting Adena.
Crouched low with a hand on the ground and another facing the heavens, Aper landed a few meters away with an unobstructed view of his prey. He remained as such – observing her. The aura encircling her, the magic manifesting around her fingers, her gesture to reach for a second blade; none went by unnoticed by the warrior.
But yet the battle still held many undesirable elements…
Slowly, the Arashi rose to his full height, revealing the ceremonial silver markings on his armour through the slithering shades that partially enveloped his figure. Wind blowing through the dark rags at his waist, showing the two curved scimitars underneath, the warrior gradually turned to face the two other beings. His piercing blue eyes shifted from one to the other, repeating the process, which he had performed on Adena. Immediately, he could tell that their intent in attacking his mark were just. Still, there was no room for petty justice to come in the way of his mission.
Immediately, the echo of the Arashi’s voice resonated in the minds of those nearby.
‘‘Warriors, do not interfere with fate’s hand…’’

Nellia's brow raised. These grounds were being soiled upon by the Abyss and this shaded being. Instead of heeding his warning she raised her weapon in an offensive stance, "By the Six, we shant see you justly done. But we can condemn as we please upon these holy lands. You will silence yourself, or forever be silenced in crypt of darkness.
"Heed this blades taste as your warning, dark beast."

Silence as well as an ominous wind brushed over the battlefield upon the Paladin’s final warning, as though she had willed the very heavens to answer her command. Aper bowed his head, the shadows thickening over his eyes as he contemplated her response.
‘‘So you will not steer from your path...’’ He whispered, lost in the thoughts of a past life he had since long forgotten. Images similar to the scene playing in front of him flashed in his mind – a city in turmoil, it’s denizens desperately scrambling to find an escape, his hand holding the blade – he felt sympathy for the woman who, despite the dangers around her was only trying to protect the people she served, as such was her duty.
‘‘So be it.’’ He answered at length, his unnatural gaze rising to meet hers. ‘‘Holy providence holds no place before the Arashi’s duty.’’i He continued, before quickly drawing the two swords strapped at his waist.
Suddenly shadows, like dark flames, erupted all around him. The air in Fallon became heavier the more they enveloped his figure, and black clouds rushed in over the besieged city, covering the citadel under a sinister veil. Finally when the darkness became opaque, Aper’s blue eyes shone through – revealing the mythical form of Inanis’ right hand – the Arashi.
‘‘All who oppose shall be eradicated without distinction.’’

This wasn't fair it just wasn't fair. They came from all over, the only light of hope for survival came from the holy man that stood near the docks. Zira pointed over to the docks for Joshua to see as she continued to lead the child and mother she was leading while Joshua led the others. Zira could only hope that Tori would make it back to them in time as they approached the docks, freedom within their grasp. Firestone wished not to spend another minute in this city.
