"Ow! you mother fucker!" While Syrun's noming made it perfectly clear that he wasn't gonna let go, Daikus' twisting and thrashing made it clear that he was gonna get out of this... alive. It was when the heat of the flames from Vetis could be felt, he began to thrash harder until his hand managed to bump against the cool hilt of Rebellion. That's when he calmed down and took a moment to think about his next strike.
He thrashed to the left using enough momentum to swing his arm and grab onto the hilt of Rebellion before thrashing to the right and unsheathing the blade with all of his power and momentum.

Daikus’ maneuvers to get out of his hold were getting more erratic with each moment, but the Abyss lieutenant was true to his goal in never letting go… then the devil did something – he managed to grab the hilt of his blade – and he lost his grip. In one second, Syrün had gone from having his enemy in a deadlock to falling away to the ground. He tried to understand what had just happened – his eyes moved to Daikus, scanning to see a new limb that had pushed him away perhaps, though not noticing any change in the man. His gaze moved down to the blade he was now holding – there was blood on it, though he could not say the source. Then there was another airborne body that he saw falling in the corner of his vision. The Abyss Lieutenant adjusted his eyes to focus on the object.
It was his arm.
His fucking left arm.

The flames finally consumed him, "It's over." He jumped into the air and brought his sword forth. The heat of the area skyrocketed well over 200 degrees as this flaming mass of man came hurtling down next to both Syrun and Daikus. His blade collided with the ground the flames and the pressure of Majutsu shot out in all directions.
Ground and stone shifted, the entire area warped as the pressure wave released in all directions. The flames followed the ass end of the pressure wave creating a green nova explosion.

One would think everything was lost, one would think that after Daikus' valiant victory to gain freedom he was doomed... But if one looked closely they would see a demon with red glowing wings floating in the air above the explosion.
Daikus watched below, shifting his wings in angles that kept him a float in the air at a safe proximy to ride the pressure waves out like an air uses thermal currents to glide through the air, while his eyes watched the green flames below his mind raced, trying to recur the actions that had taken place.
After blood splashed his face his attention turned to Syrun, his eyes opened widely, not at the fact that the assailant had given up or that his arm was missing. But at the fact that he looked strikingly similar to his old friend and mentor Ranka. In fact, now with the left arm missing, the only thing that separated how the two looked were the clothing they wore.
He had no time to question why or how, the monk was moving on him and fast... He whipped around feeling the pure power behind the attack and trying to witness the speed. It slowed down before his eyes, like the last moments of his life able to count the seconds as they passed.
five...
Sword came to position.
four...
It was pulled back to it's appex waiting and poised to strike.
three...
The steps became quicker than before making him move faster
two...
He was only a few feet away now, the power behind the attack enough to simply crush him.
one...
The blade was coming in for the strike and then it all went black.
When Daikus opened his eyes, he was starring down at the damage below. Chalk it up to instinct and reflexes to save his ass... Turned out he had snapped into devil trigger and launched into the air just seconds before the strike reached it's climax and managed to shoot into the air like a rocket only for the attack to nail the downed Syrun.
A few questions crossed his mind, most of them about Syrun... Was it actually Ranka brain washed or something? And if not then why did he look so much like him? But one question left his mouth in a growling demonic tone. "Is it over yet?" This of course was reffering to the battle, and if there were any survivors... he might just ask a few questions.

Mere seconds seemed as though they lasted hours. He was falling. He saw his hair dancing in the wind of his descend. He saw the blood pouring from his wounds. Then he saw the demonic figure looming over his enemy. It was magnificent to behold from his point of view – so close had he yet an arm he could touch it. It was magnificent with its pure demonic aura pulsing from the cracks of its blood-red scales and its incandescent wings.
Magnificent and frightening.
He saw the clashing energies of Vetis and Daikus converging into a focus of raw power. He had to close his eyes so as not to be blinded by the sheer force of their attack. Then the heat wave came at him, as though he basked under the harsh rays of the Dune Sea’s sun. His flesh burned and charred – he felt the flames lick his body, melt what little armor he had into his skin and consume the ornate cloths of the Abyss army into rags. The pain was indescribable; with his nerve endings exposed to the flames, even so much as a gush of air brought the Lieutenant agony. For long moments it lasted — for all eternity! It was maddening, yet eventually it ceased. The light faded and the air became cold. He opened his eyes slowly, in an effort to admire the stars for one final time. The only thing he saw was the tip of Daikus’ blade.
He struck the earth.

There continued to kneel the man whom before fell armies by himself. No fire blazed in this monks eyes, his tattoos stood steady and their meanings charred and blurred now. His ancient tongue, his ancient writings, they meant nothing now. Vetis pulled himself to his feet, his wounds had been burned closed but even still they dripped ruby waters upon the ground.
His eyes shot up to the sky where the Hybrid resided. The blade within his hand sparked to life rapidly shooting fire across it, but shortly it faded, his flame evaporated within his body. The monk fell to his knee and dropped his sword. His hand struck the earth and slowly he bent low touching his head to the charred soil, "Zhen de ma. Shen me yi si." He gripped the soil in hand.

The demon's eyes fell upon the both of them, the kneeling monk, and the defeated archer. He fell from the sky, striking the ground feet first and causing a crater underneath him as he began to walk towards them both. "You guys... have really pissed me off... I'll tell you what..." A flash of insanity raced through his mind, he wanted them to hurt. He pulled out the Coyote-A, looking to archer... "For you... I'll show you something my grandfather in-law did back in the day... You might know him as the Spokesman of Insanity here." Daikus raised his free hand and a cylindrical spike of ice shot up from the ground directly under Syrun.
His eyes shifted to Vetis who spoke, his mind calmed down some more, before his eyes shifted to the sky, thinking on Ranka as a single wraith like creature floated around him, remembering the time he had learned about what it was that was floating around him.
"So... You're maricul's son... that must give you familiars. As much as you don't want to embrace that side of you, sooner or later you'll use them..."
His gaze turned Vetis once again. He began to walk forward, "Any last words?" Wraith like spirits soon began to curl like smoke from his arm and into the Coyote-A shifting it into a monstrous demonized version of what it once was. As soon as the transformation was complete. Daikus charged forward, his aura truly being felt as it was amping out at full power before the monster of a weapon was shoved into Vetis' face, but as the shotgun was pushed against his chest the shotgun returned to normal and Daikus was released from DT. "Try anything and you'll die."

Vetis let the soil go from his hand and raised to his knee's, "One thing," he said his eyes opened showing his brilliant emerald eyes. His fingertips touched the blade next to him and he slowly raised it, "Give this, to the Ajerian King." He paused for a moment holding it before Daikus.
"He'll be in Jerico, along with the rest of the Ajerian army, where the Lord Berith goes to destroy the city. If your mistress Cyris still lives after the ambush, then you'll want to aid her. But this blade, give it to the Ajerian King."

When Daikus heard him speak and hold out the blade, He took it with a confused look on his face. "How exactly am I supposed to do that? The Rockstar of Hell apparently died in this world some odd thousand years ago..." Trying to think about it got him confused and he growled out in frustration, "This doesn't make sense! Start making some or I'll end you right here and now instead of giving you a second chance." His threat wasn't idle either as he pushed the barrel of Coyote-A against the monk's chest.

Vetis simply smiled and lowered his eyes to the weapon, "Dead? The Ajerian King lies dormant, and yet, he walks Argil still." He leaned into Daikus's weapon giving him all the chance in the world to pull the trigger if he didn't trust the words of the Monk, "Liang zhang piao, for me and you. The boy whom stands alongside the Queen of the Ajerians. What makes him special?"

Now Daikus was really aggravated, Vetis' last saying he at least heard, and kind of knew... or at least he thought it translated into go to hell. Many said it back in the hell of his world. "I'd just be going back home..." He pulled the Coyote-A back, it shifting back into the monster of a weapon as Daikus took a few steps back. "Let me show you something... they don't teach you in this world." He rushed forward, ramming the shotgun into the forehead of Vetis, a slight pause, "...Fuck you." He pulled the trigger and an explosive energy was released which zapped his power and took him out of devil trigger.
But after the silence, It only then caught on to Daikus what Vetis was talking about... "I got ya now..." He began walking away towards Jerico, "I'll see you in hell monk."
