History:
Part 1
The Age Old Dilemma of Romance Vs. Retribution
Snow settled about the lands of Transylvania, a citadel in Sighisoara had an echoing cry with the birth of a child. His father lowered his second son into the arms of his mother. The child was beautiful to them, but one day, he would become known by many names, one so being, Dracula. And so, the snow continued to fall, and the sun began to rise, the land of Transylvania, the land of Wallachia, and further more, the Underworld, knew not what storm was brewing.
The sounds of footsteps brewing called the young Vlad Dracula(16), word had come to him that his father was assassinated in the marshlands, and to his older brother Mircea, blinded with heated iron stakes and buried alive. As the eldest son of Dracul himself, Vlad was placed on the throne by the Sultan. His ruling time wouldn’t be long, soon after Wallachia was invaded once more by Hunyadi, Vlad fled to Moldavia, living under the protection of his Uncle, Bogdan II, until October 1451, Bogdan was assassinated and Vlad once again fled.
Vlad evaded several encampments of Ottoman soldiers and killed any who did find him. Word got back to his homeland, back to Hunyadi, who had been impressed by his tactics and knowledge of their common enemy. Hunyadi eventually got a message to Vlad asking his return and giving him a spot as an advisor, also picking him as a candidate for Wallachia’s throne.
Eventually Vlad left Hunyadi ridding himself of the offers. He had gained significant influence on Hunyadi’s troops and many followed. Years to come, 1456(25), Vlad invaded Wallachia with a much larger force gathered from his homeland. His battles were brutal, and by the time he had arrived to the throne assistants to the castle told him of Hunyadi’s death to the plague. Disappointed, yet somewhat pleased Vlad was prince to his native land once again.
He soon learned how chaotic the lands of Wallachia had become after his grand fathers death. He would have to resort to severe and extreme tactics in order to build a stable economy and face his demons. It was a simple plan at most, he started by offing the boyars. Physically many of the boyars were slain in the streets for all eyes to see, and with much of the nobility in ruin Vlad began to employ only those loyal to him as his surrounding Council. To further loosen the connections to the boyars he ruined the trade lines to Saxon-populated towns. Raids were inducted to ensure that no trade was allowed. In 1459 he impaled over a dozen Saxon traders for transgressing his authority.
The Danesti clan had threatened his throne as well. Many of the clan’s princes were slain by Vlads very blade, for instance, Vladislav II, and another who had taken part in murdering his brother. Any who housed his rivals were impaled, any princes captured were forced to read their own eulogy while kneeling before and open grave.
With the rising economy Vlad took up family traditions and restarted a war with the Ottoman Empire. Vlad stopped paying tribute to the Empire and joined sides with the Hungarians, like his fathers before him. This ensured war between Wallachia and the Ottoman empire, several assassination attempts were tried on Vlad, and none succeeded, retaliating , Vlad and his army crossed the Danube and laid waste to the area between Serbia and the Black Sea, but what he came across he wasn’t ready for.
He faced a legion of the Turks, but also demons. Beings only fabled in stories, more so, things that shouldn’t exist in the mortal realm. His men faced the worst of the worst, yet he remained victorious. He stood at the top of the valley during a skirmish and yelled down upon his adversaries, “I have killed men and women, old and young; 23,884 Turks and Bulgarians without counting those whom we burned alive in their homes or whose heads were not chopped off by our soldiers! Keep running into the head of the slaughter! Give me more! MORE!!”
Mehmed didn’t take kindly to the attacks. He gathered his demons and raised an army four times the size of Vlad’s. They crossed into Wallachia and faced guerrilla warfare and the sight of 20,000 Turks impaled along the roadside to the Castle. The Turks were heavily demoralized, believing Vlad Tepes to be something more than man. Believing his army to be made up of the highest lords of hades itself. Vlad and several of his men disguised themselves and entered the main encampment of the Turks, they attempted to assassinate Mehmed head on but failed, when Vlad and his handful of men fought their way out of the camp Mehmed decided it was time to leave, leaving Radu, Vlads Half Brother, behind to fight.
Radu struck a deal with Hungarians leadership, Vlad was imprisoned by his own allies. In his years in captivity he remarried, and slowly worked his way back into the good graces of the Hungarian monarchy. His wife, Illona Szilagyi, bore his children, one being Vlad Dracula, the other lost to time itself. His time in captivity converted him over into Catholicism as well, and had given him time to plan out a new conquest of Wallachia.
He gathered what remained of his loyal servants, and they gathered others willing to go to battle, who gathered more and so on and so forth. He raised an army, and he set off toward the land of Wallachia once more. Vlad rode in on a white horse, he was alongside some of the greatest soldiers he’d known, and he was defeated, captured, and brought before the Ottoman Empire.
Forced to kneel before the executioner they asked him for his final words, he simply replied, “I regret nothing.” The swing of an axe ended Vlad Dracula. . .
Part 2
You Will Get Exactly What You Deserve
A castle holding over five hundred men, of which a hundred were demons, fifty were elite swordsmen, the remaining three hundred and fifty were armed to the teeth. In one night the air would grow stale with the smell of blood, and the rot of death. Several men survived to recall what Dracula really was. A monster in mortal flesh.
Wallachia’s throne remained his, or so it would. Dracula easily ripped apart the front gates, a glow of red in his eyes, he took up a sword and laid waste before him, eventually coming to his Half-Brother, Radu. “In my time ruling, I punished many people, most worse than their crime, and many didn’t deserve to die at all, they were simply following orders. My dear brother, I believe it time that I bring retribution upon you, and punish you more brutally than my own death.”
Radu’s body was retrieved by the Ottoman, ravaged, nearly unrecognizable, his ribs glistening through torn flesh, his heart pierced with a ten foot steak, his arms tied so tightly behind his back that the skin was torn into, both of his legs hacked off at the knee, and his head half way cut off hanging simply by the spine. It was a message to any who would oppose the ruler of Wallachia. And foolishly did they.
Dracula decided to continue his trip of revenge. Hunyadi had died many years ago, but his son, the one who had imprisoned him after sparking the deal with Radu, Matthias Corvinus, was still alive. Dracula set out from his castle and began to siege land on his own time, creating many rumors about the Undead King. Corvinus was never found, but his men were hunted alongside the Ottoman, and the Bulgarians.
Dracula had decided it was enough revenge, he would continue to fight the Empire, and kill any demon who faced him. He would return to his homeland to find his half brother Vlad Calugarul had taken the throne. Dracula presented himself to his brother and lent his sword to him in order to make his rule long. Calugarul ruled for nearly 15 years, constructed the St. Nicholas Church, and passed away shortly after his rule was over. Dracula left, not wishing to help the son of his half-brother, seeing his son as a worthless mortal.
Many titles were attributed to him during his war against the demons, even after Mehmed passed away in history, and new rulers rose. His castle was deemed haunted and no one would step foot in it out of fear that the Impaling Prince would use their corpse as a display for the outside of his castle, as new ones appeared every so often. Wallachia was ruled not by Dracula, but by many different royal figures, they ruled in a new castle, and in hard times they would visit Dracula praying for savior.
He went to battle alongside several different rulers of Wallachia, and some he abandoned out of spite for their beliefs. Though he didn’t follow all the rulers into battle, he would continue to protect the people of his homeland from the uprising of demons, he was the Impaling Prince, and the savior of Wallachia in one go. Wallachia entered a new century, with it brought the last of the Draculesti bloodline to the throne of Wallachia.
Alexandru Conconul ruled for four years and passed away, he may have had an offspring, but no one ever knew. Dracula was alone once and for all, he had no bloodline to serve anymore. He was left to his castle, and soon enough the demons halted their activities at the Dead Sea for a time.
Part 3
Save Your Sermons for Sunday So I Can Sleep This Night Off
Wallachia had changed into Romania during the 1800s, it had mellowed out but even still demons began to exit the gate ways once again. This gained the attention of a traveling holy man, Abraham Van Helsing. Dracula had been battling the demons at the time when Helsing arrived, at first Helsing believed him to be human, fighting with a blade wearing light weight mid-evil armor for protection.
Helsing laid down a seal blocking the passage of demons into the mortal world temporarily. He spoke to the Count as an equal, not knowing his true nature, he spoke of relics and of holy incantations that could seal the gate for a long extended amount of time. Dracula dismissed him and began to set off, Helsing asked him briefly, “What is your name?” Dracula replied, “Count Dracula, The No Life King.”
Dracula watched over Helsing shortly, long enough to get a wrap on who followed him, and his eye caught one such girl. He spoke out to Helsing, “Excuse me, if you need place to stay, you may join me at my Castle.” They traveled half a day, Helsing and his group had dinner, whre Alucard was introduced to John Harker, Mina Harker (of whom he was interested the most in), Helsing himself, Jack Seward, Arthur Holmwood, and Quincy Morris.
The group departed for slumber, all except Dracula himself, who watched from the shadows, one such, Mina Harker. He couldn’t hold himself back, he ventured forward, and laid his fangs into her neck. The following morning John found his wife in a trance like state, Helsing searched the castle for Dracula but found no clue of him. He had most of his group stay behind as he would head to the place where they met Dracula, he, Dr. Seward, and Quincy Morris traveled half a days time to the gateway and found Dracula standing before it.
“Count! I demand to know what you have done to Mina Harker!” Addressed Helsing, in an unusually rough manor. Dracula looked up at him, he had a solemn look on his face, his reply was filled with sadness, “I have passed my curse onto her, so that she can live each day, as beautiful as the last. An eternity by my side.”
“I demand you reverse the curse!” Helsing had stomped his foot and drawn his blade. Dracula was not afraid of the holy man, instead he honored him by nodding and drawing his own sword, “Demand in such a way with your blade, not with words. If you wish to reverse the curse, you must slay the beast who laid it upon her. Step forward and face me, who ever die takes their prize, an eternity with beauty, or slaying the Impaling Prince.”
“So be it Count,” Helsing readied his blade in an amateur like fashion and took to the front of the field rushing at his foe. Dracula had faced more foes than Helsing had met in his life time, he easily blocked the attack and forced enough energy to send Helsing off his feet onto his back, “Worthless, fight me as if you’ve killed my kind.”
Helsing stood, “I do not wish to kill you Count, I just wish for you to return Mina to her state.” Dracula shook his head, “Fine so be it Vampire, take what’s due and return to your place in hell. AMEN!” Helsing stepped forward and his slash came down on Dracula’s blade, the force was unrivaled, holy energy siphoned off of Dracula’s blade and then, it shattered. Helsing’s blade sunk down and then forced straight up, into the heart of the beast.
“My chains, are broken,” said the Count. Helsing shook his head, “Wrong, for an eternity you shall live, unable to speak of your past glories, seen as a beast and nothing more. You, a mockery of what is man, shall walk the Earth until it be wasted to dust, you will see mortality for what it is, and watch many generations come and go. You will rise again Count, and for what its worth, Mina will be elderly, your plan for her beauty long gone. Rest well Count, for the day you rise will be a day I watch down from heaven on you, frowning.” The twist of a blade ended Count Dracula.
Part 4
Forgiveness Isn’t As Much Fun As Holding a Grudge
Helsing was correct, what rose from the ashes of death some forty years later was a beast. The No Life King didn’t bother hunting down Mina to see if his curse wore away, or to see if she was still alive. Instead he traveled from the graveyard back to his castle, he found it in ruins, barely standing on its foundation, a sign hanging from the twin oak doors, “Danger Do No Enter.” He traveled to the Dead Sea and found that an incantation had been placed on the gateway to the Underworld, it was true, he could not speak of his past glories if he had no adversary to face.
He looked into the water, sat there looking at his image. The reverse of what he was, he was no longer Dracula, he was indeed Alucard. Hatred brewed inside of him, if they wanted to see the beast and nothing more, so be it. If they had forgotten his glories, then he shall make them remember his infamy, no, not just Romania, but the world, and beyond the world. The Underworld as well. . . “I hope you’re ready for this…”
Part 5
Home is for the Heartless
Alucard turned out to be the biggest adversary within the Underworld. He demolished Domino city in days, only to fall short to the Ajerian King Arix. Into the underworld his soul traveled. Released from the burden placed upon him. He heard a voice call to him, he took the darkness by the balls. He absorbed it, he took hold of the Underworld and ripped his way out. Transcending beyond the walls that reality placed on him.
He burst into the world at the same time the Abyss did. Alucard ripped his way through the streets he continued to do battle until he re-obtained the weapons that were his, the Casull and Jackal. There was rumors that his rival had lost battle to the one known as the Keeper, the ruler of the Abyss army, he was intrigued. One so powerful, one that killed him taken by the balls. Alucard set the hunt out for the Keeper releasing his familiars by the masse within the ruined streets of Domino. The Abyss faced nightmares they had never seen before until he located the Keeper.
Alucard recalled all of his familiars and stood before the Keeper. With the least amount of effort ever he started plugging bullets empowered by the familiars in his body into the Keeper. When the Keeper decided to amp his power up Alucard broke the walls of reality around him going beyond the Vlad Effect, Alucard’s ancient sword alone shattered every barrier the Keeper placed up, it didn’t help that both the Casull and Jackal formed together combining their power to create the 15mm Genocide. Alucard fired the pistol twice, the first time blew off the Keepers arm along with destroying his staff, the second shot destroyed the Keepers entire upper body.
Alucard noticed something though. He felt a rift open when the Keeper died. The power he possessed was attracted to the rift, and so Alucard allowed himself to be taken by it. When he opened his eyes he stood on the shores of a beach staring the darkness in the face, the soot on the ground and the snow in the air proved to be a much different scene that he had just left. He stood in another world.
He studied the world a bit. He eventually got thirsty and spread the vampiric taint amongst the world. And when the war came he got excited. Leading an army of vampires against the Abyss only to be the last one standing in his army. He ripped and mauled the Abyss army back to their entrance wound until he faced Amon and was forced in chains and binds. Alucard because a prisoner of the Abyss. He was stowed away in a large oak chest.
Part 6
Pleasure Found In the Butchery
The Chest was taken by the Remnants of the Damned when the Abyss Army was subdued. The Remnant of the Damned opened the chest and released the Madness into the world. Arix sealed him back within the chest. And it wasn’t reopened until after His death. The Damned went on a vendetta against Fallon Square in a holy war they needed backing and so they opened the Oak Chest and blessed the straight jacket Alucard wore.
He went into battle against the nations of the Desert lands. And eventually the Damned were shunned from the land for using such a monster. Alucard was once again locked away in the chest where he rested until the day when Patrick took over the Legion of the Damned and released him to fight the Abyss. It may have been a mistake…
